Who we are

ARIDLIFE was first registered in Kenya (2009) by Humanitarian and ASAL development specialists to support pastoralists who lost their livelihood assets through natural or man-made disasters in northern Kenya. In 2012, Aridlife extended its operations to Gedo region to provide lifesaving interventions in IDP camps set up for displaced pastoralists in Elwak and Dollo districts in the aftermath of the 2011/2012 famine in Somalia

For the past thirteen years, Aridlife has supported the education of pastoralist children and improved incomes of subsistence farmers and pastoralist households; created self-help groups to empower youth, women, and marginalized groups and delivered lifesaving interventions to IDPs and host communities in Gedo (Somalia) and Mandera during drought and conflicts.
