ARIDLIFE is supporting nine community centers (villages) in Elwak, Mandera west and Banisa sub-counties of Mandera County with subsistence agriculture, animal health and nutrition, WASH and Sanitation, education, environmental conservation and community cohesion programs.
In 2021/22, the recurrent drought forced massive cross migrations of pastoralist in search of water and paster especially along the borderline of Ethiopia and Kenya. Aridlife extended its programs to the border villages of Liiban and Dawa districts of Ethiopia in coordination with local administrations and local CBOs to provide water trucking, food distribution and monitored natural resource conflict to ensure early detection and response by local peace committees.
